Student/Teacher Ambassadors
Student Ambassadors will serve as ‘group leaders’ for each of the 4 groups of students. They will make sure they get to their classes on time, answer questions, provide snacks, etc. Student Ambassadors will also be assigned a workshop facilitator for both the afternoon and the morning to answer questions for them and provide any refreshments if needed.

Teen Build Volunteer - Morning Shift
The morning shift volunteers will be in charge of registration, breakfast set-up and cleanup/breakfast distribution and lunch set-up/distribution.

The afternoon shift volunteers will be responsible Lunch clean-up, Career Fair Set-Up, Event clean-up

Career Fair Participant
The purpose of the career expo is to expose students to successful professionals who look like them. It will also give them the opportunity to practice on their networking, how to sell their personal brand and give them exposure to different careers that are available to them. Participants are asked to bring any collateral related to their work (i.e. pamphlets, textbooks, pictures, etc.) to grab the attention of students, and are also encouraged to pass out trinkets if any are available.

Event Details

The MetroBoard is seeking volunteers to assist with this year’s Teen Build event. Turn Up for Success is an event that provides Emotional Well Being and Career Readiness Workshops. These workshops will empower and equip teens with the ability to approach adulthood and the rest of their lives with the tools they need to succeed.

What: Teen Build

When: Saturday, January 11, 2014

Times:

All Day Volunteer: 7a-4p

Morning Shift Volunteer: 7:00 am - 12:00 pm

Afternoon Shift Volunteer: 12:00pm-4:00pm

Career Fair Participant: 2p-4p

Where: Butler College Prep: 821 E. 103rd Street Chicago, IL 60628

School Entrance is on 104th Street (behind Corliss H.S.)

Volunteers Needed: 10 volunteers

Volunteer Duties:Select your time slots to assist with registration, serving breakfast and lunch. Assist with set up and clean up of designated areas, Volunteers will also assist participating presenters, teachers and career fair vendors.

Attire: Please dress comfortably and wear comfortable shoes. Don't forget to represent MetroBoard by wearing your MetroBoard t-shirt and dark jeans or pants. If you do not have a shirt one can be purchased at the next MetroBoard meeting or red and black colored t-shirts are recommended.
