TEDxSMU Hilltop is coming September 21 - a brand new, free, University-only conference that taps the ideas worth spreading right here on the SMU campus. The Lyle School of Engineering & Meadows School of the Arts are joining together to present the half-day conference at SMU's Bob Hope Theater.

We are excited about showcasing the best and brightest ideas across campus and offering this free event for SMU students, faculty and staff. We hope that you’ll attend and make suggestions on ideas worth showcasing.

TEDxSMU

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxSMU, where x = independently organized TED event.

TEDxSMU debuted in October 2009 with a half-day conference for 7th-9th grade students (TEDxKids @SMU -- the first of its kind) and a full-day adult version of the conference.

At our TEDxSMU events, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized. www.TED.com/TEDx
