Asbury Park has ample on street parking and multiple parking lots. Fees are charged for parking and paid metered parking is now in effect in all municipal parking lots. Parking fees may be paid using a smartphone/tablet app (credit card) or at meter machines (cash or credit card) typically located at street corners. Street parking spaces are numbered. You must make note of the number of your spot to purchase time.
The parking rates are $1 per hour and $10 per day.
Meter machines accept cash – $1 bills, $5 or $10 bills or coins. No change is given. Debit cards, credit cards – MasterCard, Visa or Discover Card only. If you have paid using the meter machines, please keep your receipt with you as there is no need to take it back your car. You may use ANY meter to buy or add time. Your receipt will have your space number on it. There are no fees or surcharges.
Metered parking can also be paid for and maintained via the smartphone/tablet mPay2Park. It is easy to set up an account and tie it to a credit card. You will be alerted if your time is running low and can add time directly from the app without the need to visit your vehicle. When you park you will still need to note the space number for purchase of parking time. The app is available for iOS and Android. There are no fees or surcharges for paying via the app.
We recommend you do not park in undesignated spaces or spaces reserved for certain businesses. Be aware that some spaces are designated as short term (15 minutes only) parking.
