December Salon and Adventure, Tuesday, December 13, 6:00pm

Gather at the fountain outside of Spill the Beans

Come Walk on the Wild Side

Experience Downtown Greenville as you never have before.

Greenville has an illustrious history that is not in all the history books. Join us for a walking tour of Downtown and learn about Greenville roots, people, and stories that have made us special. We will meet at the fountain at Falls Park and take a walk up Main Street to uncover some of this history.

We will end the tour at a local watering hole to have a discussion on our past, and how we can create the next chapters in Greenville's story.

The tour is limited to the first 25 people to sign up. So don't hesitate.

What are Adventures?

Adventures are unusual and thought-provoking experiences that give participants the chance to engage with their community and region in a unique way.

TEDxGreenville is expanding our offerings. To supplement the ideas we spread through the annual April TEDxGreenville conference and our monthly salons, we are now hosting TEDxGreenville Adventures.

Adventures are unique and intimate events, designed to offer participants unparalleled, behind-the-scenes access to the people and places that make Greenville so dynamic.

Adventures extend the TEDx phenomenon beyond the single day of the event, enabling many more people to participate as we extend the possibilities for both speakers and audiences. By holding Adventures throughout the year, many people can become involved in presenting, learning, and advancing ideas into action.

Because Adventures offer an alternative format to the standard TEDx talk, concepts that are not easily communicated in a brief presentation can be explored and discussed. Adventures can include hands-on or on-site experiences, deepening understanding and accelerating the spread of ideas. Communities dedicated to the advancement of worthwhile ideas can support ideas in action.

Participants can meet and interact with the masterminds behind the future of technology, business, and entertainment, to name just a few. As many of our Adventures are cross-generational by design and open to all, we can stimulate conversations among people of all ages, professions, and neighborhoods.

With Adventures, we can harness the energy and enthusiasm generated by a TEDx conference and turn Greenville into a laboratory where ideas can continue to evolve and spread beyond the day of the event.

Admission is free, but registration is required.

TEDxGreenville was the first independently organized TEDx event in South Carolina. It all started in 2010 when a diverse, passionate group of TED enthusiasts from around the community came together with the singular goal of bringing an educational and inspirational TED-like experience to Upstate residents.

The TEDx Program is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversation and connection through local TED-like experiences.

TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently, under a free license granted by TED.

Now in its eighth year, the TEDxGreenville movement ignites passions and builds bridges like never before, while highlighting the incredible people and organizations that make the Upstate of South Carolina one of the best places to live on the planet. Yep, we said it. Drop the mic.
