About this event
This summer, TEDxBuffalo and The Burchfield Penney Art Center will be putting on a discussion with 5 formerly incarcerated Buffalo men, currently on parole or probation. They will discuss their stories, the struggle of living life with a felony, and how they are navigating their reentries into “normal” life - some released after serving 20, 40 years. Today, these men are active college students working towards their associates degrees through a Houghton College at Hope House collaboration with a Peaceprints of WNY reentry program. Following their stories will be a discussion on the current state of American mass incarceration. The speakers include: Jamie Swanson, Emiel Parks, Joseph Wallace, Patrick Foster, Santo Gonzalez, and Dr. Daniel Smith.
