Event Details

This year at TED Stephen H. Friend, co-founder and director of Sage Bionetworks, announced the 'Resilience Project', a new crowdsourced effort to understand the quirks and patterns of human genetic code. Friend proposed the revolutionary idea of studying those that are healthy, rather than the sick, as a means to treat sickness. Join our panel of UCLA faculty, alumni, and students as we discuss the importance of learning from healthy people, as a means to prevent sickness in future generations.

Panelists

  • Dr. Vincent Funari, Director of Genomics Core, Cedars-Sinai
  • Aubrey Kelly MBA '12, Center for Operational Efficiency, Innovation & Improvement - Amgen
  • Wes Yin, Associate Professor of Public Policy, Luskin School of Public Affairs
Moderated by Carey Banner MBA '15

*Boxed lunch will be provided. Q & A may go to 12:45pm.
