The Fourth Annual TECTA Summer Research Institute is a free all-day training conference and networking event for Middle Tennesee's child care providers and program directors. Certificate of training hours will be issued and CEU credits will be availiable for a fee. You will receive in-depth information on the following topics: ethical leadership and administration, social/emotional child development, intense training for pre-school teachers, and an all-day seminar on early literacy.
Leadership/Administration Track - Participants will examine the roles and responsible leadership of a child care program owner, director, lead teacher or assistant director.
Social/Emotional Track - Participants will learn about what matters most when caring for the social and emotional development of children of all ages.
Pre-school Track - Participants will learn some specific methods for intentional teaching and motivation for young children in this special age group.
Literacy Track - Participants will receive an overview of early language and literacy development which will include ideas for creating literacy rich environments for a classroom or family child care home.

Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance
The Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance, or TECTA, is a statewide Early Childhood professional development system. TECTA provides financial support for continued learning, from earning a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential to earning a Doctorate in Early Childhood Education. Our goal is to promote the highest quality care for all of Tennessee’s children by providing early childhood education personnel with the recognized professional knowledge and skills through a system of higher education.
