The Health Innovators is very excited to host an evening where a group of panelists will present their current perspectives on how new technology innovation can provide more effective care for senior citizens. It is estimated that 3,000,000 baby boomers will reach retirement in the next 20 years, which is sparking a need for technology to supplement the available labor bandwidth of medical practicioners.
Please join us for sandwiches and snacks as well as informative presentations and vibrant networking.

The venues should have a minimum capacity of 16 people for our roundtable events, or 60 people for our regular monthly events.

Speakers

Dr. Jatin Dave - Medical Director of Geriatrics, Tufts Health Plan
Dr. Dave, a geriatrician and a hospice and palliative care specialist is a medical director for geriatrics at Tufts Health Plan in Watertown, MA, He is a graduate of Gujarat University B.J. Medical College in India. Dr. Dave completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and subsequently completed a General Internal Medicine fellowship at New York University. Dr. Dave then went on to complete the Harvard Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine and also received a master’s degree in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
In addition to patient care, Dr. Dave is committed to clinical education and teaches geriatric medicine to medical students, residents, and fellows, with a goal of improving the care that older patients receive. In 2004, he was selected as a Rabkin Fellow. This one-year fellowship, which was administered by the Carl J. Shapiro Institute at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, provides Harvard Medical School faculty with an opportunity to advance their academic careers in medical education. He also received the prestigious Geriatric Academic Career Award, a career development award for academic geriatricians.
A particular interest of Dr. Dave's is improving communication between clinicians and patients. He says, "Like many other things in life patient preferences regarding treatment options are quite variable, and at the Center for Older Adult Health, we strive to provide individualized, patient-centered care suited to each person based on his/her preferences."

Yuval Malinsky - CEO, Vigorous Mind
Yuval Malinsky is CEO of Vigorous Mind, Inc. of Newton, Massachusetts. Vigorous Mind developed a scientifically-based brain wellness software for seniors. Mr. Malinsky has had 30 years of experience in software and healthcare technology in the U.S., Europe, and Israel. He was founder and CEO / Managing Director of three software and services companies and has worked as business consultant to Fortune 500 companies, academic institutions and medical device companies. Mr. Malinsky was a mentor at M.I.T. Venture Mentoring Service for five years and an adjunct professor in healthcare IT at Northeastern University SPCS . He was Chair of the New England-Israel Business Council between 2006-2011 and currently serves on its executive committee. He is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Azrieli College of Engineering in Jerusalem. Yuval Malinsky holds an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France and a BA in Computer Science and Economics from Bar-Ilan University in Israel.

Lorraine Pigeon - Director of Clinical Geriatrics & High Risk Populations, Signature Healthcare
As a Director of Geriatrics at Signature Healthcare, she has decreased ER utilization by 70% and acute admissions by 50% while achieving excellent patient satisfaction while at Signature Health Care. She has also developed infrastructure, work flow, and job descriptions for population management of High Risk Elders within a Primary Care Practice. Prior to that, she was the Director of Geriatric Center of Excellence at Steward HealthCare in Dorchester, MA after she was a Registered Nurse and a Nurse Practitioner.
Lori holds a Master of Science-Primary Health Care Nursing from Simmons College and a Bachelor of Science - Nursing from Boston College.

Mike Ryan - Sales, Marketing & Market Research Management Consultant, SM2 Advisors - Mike Ryan believes that the biggest innovations of the 21st Century will be the intersection of biology and technology. Pursuing that belief, Mike joined Health Innovators as a Director of Organization Development.
Mike’s over 20 year journey has led him to a sales and marketing career with organizations in such diverse fields as ophthalmology, cancer research, healthcare conventions and exhibits, advanced manufacturing and infrastructure, with organizations as diverse as Dun & Bradstreet, PC Week, Automation News, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and Public Works Journal Corporation.
Mike comes from the Baby Boomer generation and looks forward to better days ahead when seniors are delighted with technological changes.
