Description

Technical Rock Climbing Safety

Please join us to learn technical rock climbing safety skills. Whether you are learning to set up top ropes or you are a skilled multi-pitch trad climber, there will be something for everyone to learn. Alpine member Martin Barnett will cover many topics, from why we make potentially fatal mistakes on our local sport routes to the correct way to set up load sharing anchors using rock protection. Please come along to a fun evening where you will learn skills and techniques that will help keep you and your friends safe out on the rock.

Martin Barnett is one of only 450 people in the world that have successfully climbed The Seven Summits - the highest peak on each of the seven continents. He guides expeditions around the world, and when home works as an industrial rescue instructor and rope rigging technician.
