FAILfaire: Where it's OK to Talk About #FAILS
The stories of failures and lessons learned in tech for democracy.
Tech projects for social change succeed and they fail. The successes are reported on but, sadly, the failures are quietly pushed under the proverbial rug.
Well, its time to bring out the failures, with a sense of humor, and with an honest look at our collective projects in this community at the #tech4dem FAILfaire.
FAILfaire features case studies of projects using tech for democracy, accountability, and transparency that have, to put it simply, been a #FAIL. Tongue firmly in cheek, we take a close look at what didn't work and why the projects failed amidst the hype of tech changing the world.
We believe that only if we understand what DOESN'T WORK in this field and stop being silent about our failures, can we collectively learn and get better, more effective, and have greater impact as we go forward.
FAILfaire returns to DC to focus on fails in tech for democracy (aka #tech4dem), accountability, governance, and transparency.
