CBIC's November Tech Night Takeover...
Space: The Final Frontier to Entrepreneurial Growth in Central Virginia
Space is vital for innovation and entrepreneurial growth. From early stage companies who need space to set up shop, to high fliers who need space for expansion and growth, finding the right space is a challenge, especially in Charlottesville. But what kind of space is needed to satisfy the different needs of hi tech and life sciences companies? Are there alternatives to renovating tired old buildings in the City or shopping malls?
Join us for engaging discussions of these issues at the CBIC Tech Night Takeover talk show on November 6. Panelists include Tim Miano CEIO of SP@CE (www.atspace.io), an ambitious project to fund innovation infrastructure in Charlottesville, and Carrie Roth, recently appointed as the Executive Director, President and CEO of the Virginia Biotechnology Research Park in Richmond (www.vabiotech.com).
CBIC is also delighted that House Democratic Leader and 57th District Delegate, David Toscano (www.davidtoscano.com), has also agreed to be on the panel and to provide input from the state legislature. Martin Chapman of Indoor Biotechnologies (www.inbio.com) will be the talk show host and moderator.
This promises to be one of the most exciting TNT events! The panel will consider what kind of infrastructure is needed to incubate an entrepreneur and to accelerate business growth. What is the role of state and local government and the university? Can tech spaces and art co-exist? What works best for employee retention and recruitment?
What are your space needs? Join us at The Haven on November 6.
