Many Charlottesville start-up companies and technology businesses are dedicated to growing their operations locally, taking advantage of a robust innovation environment. Yet most of these companies must look beyond local geographical boundaries to reach their customers, suppliers, partners and investors. Join us for the next “Tech Night Takeover” to learn more about local companies that are taking a global attitude.
Panelists will share their experiences about growing their technology companies, and keeping their operations firmly planted in Charlottesville while treading the expansive waters of the global marketplace. You'll also hear from event sponsor, the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, about the ins and outs of doing business outside of your own marketplace while maintaining your local presence.
PANEL: Jim Zuffoletti, CEO, OpenQ, and Tom Thorpe, CEO, Afton Scientific, with introductions and remarks by Caitlin Clark, International Trade Manager, Virginia Economic Development Partnership and Martin Chapman, CEO of Indoor Biotechnologies, facilitating.
Immediately following the panel discussion, stay for the social from 5:30-7:30pm featuring an open bar with four of Three Notch'd Brewery's finest microbrews, hors d’oeuvres and member chatter!
PARKING: Enter the rear parking lot accessed on the west side of the block from 10th street. The entrance to the lot is directly behind Central Battery. Upon entering the rear lot, find a parking spot and walk to the far corner where you will see a large (20ft) roll up garage door, which is the entrance to the brewery! Beers are cold; come on in!
