Description

How will automation and the changing nature of work impact the essential skills and occupations needed in our region?

Valley Vision, in partnership with the Yolo County Workforce Innovation Board and the Sacramento region's three other Workforce Development Boards, has developed a series of events that will explore how automation and the changing nature of work will affect businesses, sectors, occupations and skills across the region.

These forums will bring together local employers, workforce and economic development professionals, educational partners, and others to address the challenges and opportunities emerging as sectors and business adjust to an increasingly automated and technology-oriented work landscape.

We invite local members of the community that play an essential role in guiding youth and adults in their educational and career paths to participate in this discussion. The feedback and issues discussed during these events will serve as a backdrop to a larger regional workforce event to be held in Fall 2018.

The Capital region's competitiveness and viability depends on delivering effective pathways and training that mirror present day and future workforce demand. It is critical that we are properly prepared and working together to ensure that students and adults enter the workforce with employable skills. This talent pool will support and grow existing businesses, attract new businesses, and enable our region's growth for decades to come.
