Startup Weekend and Hub Ventures are teaming up with Vodafone Americas Foundation to launch the second annual “Technology for Good” Startup Weekend at Impact Hub San Francisco on November 1-3. We’re bringing together talented startup enthusiasts to spend an intense 54 hours building mobile, web, and software solutions to some of the world’s biggest challenges, ranging from poverty alleviation to climate change.
The top teams will receive a variety of valuable prizes and will be fast-tracked to the finalist round for the next accelerator cohort of Hub Ventures. This event is ideal for entrepreneurs passionate about leveraging technology to create positive impact in the world who want to start a new company, add members to their existing teams, or simply network with other like-minded entrepreneurs. The event will take place at Impact Hub San Francisco, a purpose driven co-working space located in the thriving SOMA tech corridor, and connected to 40+ other Impact Hub locations globally.

Vodafone Americas Foundation (www.vodafone-us.com) is one of a network of 28 local foundations affiliated with Vodafone Group Plc. striving to better the lives of millions of people around the world through mobile for good programs. Overall, Vodafone and its foundations have invested more than $566 million over the past 20 years to address pressing issues using mobile technology.
In the United States, the Foundation supports programs that utilize mobile technology to improve people’s lives, support the development sector and spark innovation. The Foundation’s largest program is the annual Vodafone Americas Foundation Wireless Innovation Project, a competition to seek the best wireless innovation to make social impact. About Startup Weekend: Startup Weekends are 54-hour events designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos and presentations. Participants create working startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks. All teams hear talks by industry leaders and receive valuable feedback from local entrepreneurials. The weekend is centered around action, innovation, and education. Terms of Participation Agreement: It is our job to provide you with an incredible networking and learning opportunity. Our intention is that you meet some amazing people that you might actually start a company with, build relationships with coaches, and learn from your peers. The event is intended to be a collaborative forum for sharing, learning, building, and having fun. As such, by registering as a participant, you acknowledge that any ideas shared by you or anyone else over the course of the event are contributions to the overall experience and community. If you as a participant are worried about someone stealing your ideas, please reconsider your participation in the event itself or simply refrain from sharing specifics about your idea.
As a member of your startup community, you agree to to be inclusive of any and all people and their ideas. You agree to act professionally, treat everyone with respect, and treat the event facilities with proper care. You agree that you are responsible for any accidents or damages that you cause. Créée en 1963, la Jeune Chambre Economique de Monaco est ancrée dans la vie de la Principauté depuis cinq décennies.
