About this event

Note: There is another Sampler group the following week on Tues, 12/22. You can get a free ticket to that at event by clicking here.

Max Rivers, The Marriage Mediator, and author of "Loving Conflict: A New Alternative to Couples Counseling" spent 20 years running Men's Emotional Support Groups as Director of the Boston Men's Center. He was also one of the founding fathers of several men's conferences including: Mainely Men, The Massachusetts Men's Gathering and the National Organization of Changing Men.

This group with be facilitated by Max using the skills he learned running hundreds of groups in the 70's and 80's; as well as including techniques he has since developed which he calls Embodied-NVC (Non-Violent Communication).

During this time of forced isolation, the goal of this group is to give the men who participate an opportunity to have the support of other men who have worked with Max in their marriages and relationships. In this culture, men tend to lean on women for all their support, and it turns out, a lot of those needs can be better met from men whose life experiences are more alike.

Please note: These groups are predominently for previous clients of mine, who have learned my Teamwork Embodied-NVC process in session.

If you haven't been a client or student of mine, I strongly recommend that you read or listen to the first four chapters of my book "Loving Conflict."

This information can be gotten by going to my website: and:

  • Buying my book (in paperback or Kindle format)
  • Buying the whole audio book (which I'll mail to you on a memory stick) or
  • Buying the specific audio chapters which can be downloaded.

OR you can go to my Facebook Page called:"SameOldArgument" and watch the videos of me reading and commenting on those chapters.
