Event description

Description

Ride with Team USGBC in our Second Annual Green Ride for Green Students!

Join us for a leisurely bike tour of Saint Paul as we raise funds to support our future climate leaders. We had so much fun last year, and hope you can get out and be active again with us while raising money for a great cause in 2019! This event is open to all, so please invite your friends and family to join us!

The 2019 Green Ride is supporting hands on, student-propelled, sustainability solutions that instills climate crisis literacy, action, and leadership for students in our community.

We reach youth through the Green Students Mentoring Program. This initiative educates students about how the buildings they live, learn, and play in are impacting our climate now and in the future. With mentors, they learn about strategies to make their buildings more healthy and sustainable places to be in. By teaching our students these lessons today, our hope is that they will make better environmental, societal, and financial decisions when they become leaders of tomorrow.

Total Investment - $56 ($20 goes directly to student climate leadership and literacy program; $36 covers costs of ride with the bike tour host, the Saint Paul Classic)

Join Team USGBC as an Individual in 3 Easy Steps:

1. Join team USGBC by registering on this page. This is your $20 donation to support our student climate literacy and leadership initiative (you'll recieve instructions for next steps after you register here).

2. Register for the Ride with the Saint Paul Classic. This is the registration that gets you into the bike ride. You must also register on this page if you want to participate as a member of USGBC's Green Ride.

3. Fundraise to support Youth Climate Literacy and Leadership in Minnesota.

  1. Set your fundraising Goal (we recommend $150 - $200)
  2. Let Steph Leonard (sleonard@usgbc.org), or Brent Suski (bsuski@usgbc.org) know that you are fundraising for your ride. We will add your name to our individual donation page.
  3. Share your participation with your network and invite them to get involved. Here is a sample message and sample graphics that you can use to email or include on social media to get the word out about your participation to your network.
  4. Commit to personally thanking all of your donors after you complete the ride.

NOTE: Decide how far you want to ride - the USGBC staff will be taking a leisurely 15 mile tour, but you can choose a 32 or 47 mile ride if you are an over-achiever ;).
