Friends Who Are Going
Event description

We are pleased to welcome all Team HBV members to the 9th Annual International Collegiate Conference!

The Team HBV Collegiate Conference brings together individuals representing Team HBV chapters across the nation, including Jade Ribbon Campaign advocates, Hepatitis B and liver cancer experts, and participation from our international counterparts in China and Mongolia. The conference is a professional forum for Team HBV chapters to share insights, best practices, and strategies to advance Hepatitis B outreach, education, and communication. Through abstract submissions, poster presentations, keynote speakers, skills workshops and an on-site Intercollegiate Outreach Project, attendees will receive updated Hepatitis B news and legislation, develop national strategies to address current issues, network with other chapters, and advance the future of hepatitis B and liver cancer outreach education.

This year, the Advisory Board has partnered with our host organization, the Asian Liver Center (ALC) at Stanford University, to bring you a conference with:

- Intercollegiate Outreach Project (IOP)
- Skills-based workshops
- Poster sessions
- A free evening to explore Stanford, CA
- Socials and mixers

The registration fee of $50 includes:

- 2 nights of hotel accommodation (rooms of 3-4)

- 5 meals, from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch (except Saturday dinner)

- local transportation during the conference to/from the hotel (provided in the form of reimbursements for Ubers/Lyfts)

What is NOT included in the registration fee:

- flights (or other means of transportation) to/from the conference

Please arrange your own travel plans accordingly. Limited financial aid is available to offset some of the travel costs. Please email teamhbv.aboard@gmail.com to inquire.

Information on accommodations will be made available soon

After registration, you will receive an attendee booklet with more details about the conference

How does financial aid for the conference work?

We will have a limited budget to subsidize attendee travel to/from the conference. The size of the subsidy will vary by individual/chapter and depend on a number of factors including need, funds available, and distance traveled. Subsidies will be processed in the form of a reimbursement after the conference. Therefore, attendees should plan on purchasing their own travel tickets and are advised to book as early as possible to get the best deals.

How should I book my travel?

Book travel (flights, buses, trains, etc) to/from Stanford ASAP to get the best deals. If flying, we recommend flying into SFO airport. Plan to arrive Friday morning/afternoon and departing Sunday afternoon/evening. Retain ALL receipts in the event that you qualify for travel reimbursement.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to/from the event?

See the conference handbook, which you will receive via email after registration, for more information.

Can I arrive early to the conference?

Yes, absolutely. You are welcome to check-in to the hotel if you arrive early or go directly to the ALC at Stanford.

Can I arrive late or leave early from the conference?
Ideally, we'd love to see you there for the whole time. The most important events are on Saturday and Sunday morning. If you must leave early, please email teamhbv.aboard@gmail.com to discuss.

Is there a dress code for the conference?

Please wear your Team HBV shirts Friday evening. Saturday and Sunday will be business formal/casual.

What if I don't have a Team HBV t-shirt?
If you don't have one, we'll give you one at registration! If you already have one, please bring it and wear it on Friday.

What else do I need to bring?

A laptop and extra funds for food and travel not covered by the conference.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Nope! We will have your name on file when you check-in at the conference.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, you can update your registration information via Eventbrite.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

What's the refund policy?

No refunds.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
