Description

Team Chartering: What Is It and Why Do It?

Short Summary: How many times have you worked with a team or in a partnership and realized only in retrospect all the ways you might have reached better outcomes? What might your experience have been like if you had taken the time to do some more planning up front?

What are the best experiences you have had in teams or groups and what are the most difficult? In thinking through the differences, how much more mission and role clarity was there on the successful teams? How did communication style differ and how did this comfort develop?

This session will offer a stellar tool for team development called a team charter. Team Chartering is an iterative process that can be used in any setting with teams of 2 to 100 +

Using this tool, you will sort through team mission and vision, communication and conflict styles, strengths and areas and growth, roles, feedback and more to create conditions for best individual and team outcome.

Session Objectives:

-Discuss and understand benefits of team chartering

-Learn how to discuss this process with your team in advance

-Practice chartering

-Leave with a tool to clarify and strengthen team goals, roles, processes and interpersonal relationship

*Content- specific facilitation will be tailored to suit audience and presentation length to maximize learning and engagement

Anne Hilb, MSOD
ahilb@graymake.com

Anne Hilb (She, Her, Hers) is an expert in conflict and connection. As an organization development consultant, trainer and facilitator she is deeply passionate about inclusion, opening space for difficult conversations, and learning more about groups and individuals.

Anne believes that to know oneself is to be most effective; that people support what they help create and that there is nothing so practical as a good theory. She brings these beliefs to her consulting work where her goal is to always to balance relationship-building and problem-solving in order to reach a concrete plan and achieve forward movement.

Running towards conversations other often steer clear of, Anne offers candid observations, her quick wit and genuine curiosity to all looking for a partner in their work.
