Event description

Description

TEALS and Dallas ISD are hosting an informational session on January 25th from 4:30 - 5:30 pm at H.B. Bell (Buckner) Bldg. room 304. The session will include refreshments, an overview of the TEALS program, and the opportunity for a discussion about computer science(CS) education locally. If you are a teacher, administrator, or counselor at a DISD high school please join us!

TEALS is an embedded professional development program for teachers that are teaching or that are interested in teaching high school computer science. TEALS pairs high school teachers with tech professionals from industry in a co-teaching partnership where the volunteers provide expertise and mentorship in the CS content and the classroom teacher provides the expertise in running and leading the classroom. Together - teams are able to teach introduction, AP, and post AP-level computer science courses.

TEALS has 3 models of support tailored to the experience level of our partner teachers. New teachers get a full team of engineers teaching alongside them while more experienced teachers get access to guest lectures, career talks, and industry-specific knowledge and updates.

If you are interested in bringing TEALS to your school please register to attend this info session and visit www.tealsk12.org to start your school application. If you have any questions, you can contact John Jannone, the Texas TEALS regional manager at john@tealsk12.org directly, or fill out their Contact Form on their website.
