Teaching Safe Bicycling: Milwaukee

Teaching Safe Bicycling is a "Train-the-Trainer" workshop. In this course you'll learn:
How to organize and lead a youth bicycle training course in your community
How children are different from adults as bicyclists
Tips and skills to improve bicycling safety
How to identify and avoid common bicycling hazards
How to partner with local organizations to improve bicycle safety
This workshop is free, but advance registration is required.
Please bring a bicycle and properly fitted helmet to this workshop. This workshop will be indoors and outdoors. Please dress in layers and wear clothing appropriate for cycling and being outdoors. Lunch is on your own, and please bring snacks and beverages. Arrive early--the class will begin promptly at 9:00 AM! And finally, at the training please be flexible, and ready to have fun!
Special note about location/directions:
Washington Park Urban Ecology Center is located in the Community Building/Washington Pavilion on the lagoon on the north east side of the park (Location address: 1859 N. 40th St). Please park in the parking lot as you enter off of 40th Street and walk the 50 yards along the service road west to our building. Our primary entrance is on the east side of the building facing the service road and 40th Street with Urban Ecology Center displayed prominently over the door.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
All participants must be 18 years of age or older.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Parking is available in the parking lot. A portion of the lot will be blocked off for the bicycling course during the training. Please do not park in this area.
What can I bring into the event?
You must bring a bicycle and correctly fitted bicycle helmet. Dress in layers and clothing appropriate
for time outside and bicycling. If you desire, please bring beverages and snacks. Lunch is on your own

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, but you are welcome to do so.
