Description

A book club series mirrored after a series offered by the City’s Social Studies Department. Each session will address a different Social Studies topic or theme and include a discussion of two children’s history books. During each session participants will strengthen content knowledge of the selected topic through a scholarly reading along with reading and discussing the children’s books. Participants will also work with primary and secondary sources for use in the classroom. In addition, participants will have opportunities to plan and collaborate with colleagues.

Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions in the series. Participants must register for each session in the series.

Note: Teachers will receive the two children’s books discussed as well as training rate for the session.
