Event description

Description

This session uses role play, case studies, and discussion to examine the following questions about teaching for diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice.

  1. How is the current culture and climate of our classrooms helping — or hindering — the academic success of CSU students?
  2. Do microaggressions and/or implicit biases happen in our classrooms? Can we stop them?
  3. How can we manage “hot moments” in the classroom?

Answers to these questions involve not only knowing as much as we can about our students, but also, turning the mirror to ourselves.

Led by: Mari Banks, Associate Professor & Interim Director of the CAS
