Event description
Art resourcing, planning, teaching and assessing; for primary school class teachers, curriculum designers and primary art co-coordinators.

About this Event

'Feeling incredibly inspired after a fantastic course. The content couldn't have been any more useful and Emily's obvious first hand experience just enhanced all of this.'

This course comes highly recommended by past attendees and will help you to plan a full year of art lessons for Key Stage One and Upper and Lower Key Stage Two. Whether you are starting from scratch, refining your existing provision or planning to link art to your pre-existing topics, you will gain insight into how to plan for progression and create a well-rounded and relevant art curriculum.

You will be inspired to develop or refine your curriculum so that it includes a range of culturally, geographically and ethnically diverse art and artists, as well as artists who work within a range of themes and materials. You will work towards an art curriculum that ensures that the children you teach feel engaged, represented and extended by the art they are exposed to.

You will gain a better understanding of how progression in key art skills can be planned for, taught and assessed. You will experience practical examples of how to model and teach with different art materials.

You will leave the course with ideas for an inspiring primary art curriculum that more than extends the National Curriculum requirements for primary art and design.

'Great subject knowledge and Emily was able to give real life examples of what she had done when answering any questions asked. Emily was so warm, friendly, open to questions, informative and inspiring.'
