Description

Join the Mayor of Boston's Office of Recovery Services and the Student Coalition on Addiction for a day of workshops, lectures, and discussion around taking care of patients with substance use disorders. Registration is free to students and trainees in dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacology, psychology, public health, and social work. The day will include practical, case-based, and didactic learning with an interdisciplinary team of local, state, and federal panelists.

Address addiction as a chronic medical illness and harmful drug use as a personal and public health problem
Describe the clinically applicable components of the neurobiology of addiction

Provide overview for the outpatient pharmacotherapy of alcohol, opiates, and tobacco
Identify appropriate treatment and duration of care using pharmacotherapy
