Description

Join us for our Teach-In series featuring a screening Dr. Strangelove followed by a discussion with Rachel Bronson.

How close are we to nuclear war? This great film by Stanley Kubrick grows more prescient every day. Its story of a rogue general who believes communists are “polluting the bodily fluids” of the American people is as hilarious as it is chilling. Even more so, since we’ve already come close to realizing its absurd plot and seem to stand close to nuclear the precipice today.

Rachel Bronson is Executive Director of the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists. She has taught Global Energy at Kellogg, served 8 years on the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, published Thicker Than Oil: America’s Uneasy Partnership with Saudi Arabia, and has appeared on The Charlie Rose Show, CNN, and NPR.
