Description

Dear Members and Friends,

We look forward to seeing you at our 2017 Tea Party, “Tea & Treasure in the Winter Palace, on Sunday, November 19th, 2017, at the Mansion on Main Street in Voorhees, NJ. This is the sixth Tea Party organized by the Daughters of Penelope, Nike Chapter 230, in support of philanthropic objectives. Primary beneficiaries of this event will be K9s for Warriors and Covenant House of NJ.

K9s for Warriors saves both warriors and rescue dogs. The organization is dedicated to providing service canines to our service men and women suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, traumatic brain injury, and/or military sexual trauma as a result of military service post-9/11. The goal of the organization is to empower them to return to civilian life with dignity and independence.

For more than four decades, Covenant House has helped transform and save the lives of over a million homeless, runaway and trafficked young people. The organization offers housing and support services to young people in need – helping over 46,000 boys and girls every year. Their work is guided by a mission to serve youth with absolute respect and unconditional love, to help suffering homeless kids, and to protect and safeguard all children in need.

The cost of a trained service dog is $15,000, and we are hoping to raise enough funds to purchase at least one dog and make a meaningful contribution in support of homeless teens.

We hope that through the generosity of our members, friends and business associates, the TEA PARTY COMMEMORATIVE JOURNAL, published for this event, will prove to be a most successful means of fundraising. We also have event sponsorships available. Please feel free to reach out to us at our contact information below for more information.

With the objectives of the Daughters of Penelope being to promote Hellenism, Education, Philanthropy, Civic Responsibility, and Family & Individual Excellence, our organization is a leader in philanthropic, educational and cultural activities and promotes the spirit of cooperation.

We invite you to participate in the Journal with a personal greeting, a congratulatory message, a special message to the organizations that our event will benefit, or an ad for your business. By doing so, take pride in knowing that you will be assisting a veteran and a homeless teenager to find the long-term support they need to heal!

We thank you for your support and look forward to enjoying this event with you.

Sincerely,

Stacy Chryssofos Andrea Tsapralis
