Event description
Tea and Tradition featuring Sanctuary Kitchen. The closing reception of the Sanctuary Cities and the Politics of the American Dream Exhibit

About this Event

Tea has been part of daily rituals for most cultures across the globe. Gathering over tea is a space for traditions, story and community. From ancient medicinal uses to sharing a cup with a friend, tea has universally been a source of comfort and warmth. Historically, women have also used tea gatherings to mobilize support for women’s rights and create entrepreneurship opportunities.

Join Sanctuary Kitchen and Creative Arts Workshop for an afternoon of tea demonstration and tastings from around the world. We invite community to sit and discuss with the women of Sanctuary Kitchen over a warm cup of tea, while creating a sanctuary space to give voice, share stories and empower.
