Opioid use is on the rise in North Central MA. Today’s opioid users are our co-workers, family members, neighbors, friends, children, students, and members of the community. Learning how to detect early use is one way to combat the epidemic that has plagued the region. Being prepared and educated can help save lives! Come listen to a panel of experts who will discuss how the community can overcome the crisis.
(Free Narcan training will be provided immediately following the panel, and participants will receive a certificate of completion.)
Panelists will include: Senator Jennifer Flanagan; Ernest Martineau, Fitchburg Chief of Police; Michelle Dunn, Co-Director and President of Alyssa's Place; Jack Maroney, CEO of Recovery Centers of America at Westminster; Tamara E. Perini, MSW, LCSW UMass Memorial - HealthAlliance Hospital; District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr. of the Worcester County District Attorney's Office; Daisy Bacener, Chief Probation Officer for the City of Fitchburg; and Dr. Diane Power M.D. OB/GYN UMass Memorial - HealthAlliance Hospital. Narcan training will be administered by Michael Ellis, Heywood Hospital.
