ASCE Orange County Transportation & Development Institute (T&DI) invites you to our June 25th lunch program At UCI's University Club featuring...

LA Metro's SR-710 North Mobility Improvements Projects presented by Abdollah Ansari, Senior Executive Officer of Metro's Major Highway Program.

The Final Environmental Document for the SR-710 North corridor was approved in January 2019, with the selection of the Transportation System Management/Transportation Demand Management (TSM/TDM) alternative as the preferred alternative for the ultimate transportation solutions for the corridor. At the December 2018 meeting, the Metro Board of Directors authorized $515 million to be invested in various local and regional improvements including the TSM/TDM projects listed in the SR-710 North Final Environmental Document and new roadway mobility improvement projects proposed by local jurisdictions. The newly introduced projects are to improve vehicular mobility between I-10 and I-210 within the area of impact of SR-710. Approximately, $1 billion in local, state, and federal funds are available for the MIP and TSM/TDM projects. The eligible projects consist of freeway interchange and ramp modifications/reconfigurations, local intersection improvements, corridor improvements/roadway widenings, grade separations, and traffic signal improvements/timing adjustments.

The Orange County Branch Transportation and Development Institute (T&DI) was established in September 2016 as an evolution of the long-standing Transportation Technical Group (TTG). The mission of the Orange County Branch T&DI  is to advance the transportation engineering, planning and development community in a manner consistent with the purpose of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Transportation and Development Institute of ASCE and also to provide members with opportunities to expand and share their knowledge and expertise of transportation engineering, planning, construction and development, particularly as it relates to the unique environment of the Orange County Branch area.

The T&DI hosts technical lectures, specialty seminars, tours and other events to give our members the opportunity to interact with other professionals in the transportation and development fields of civil engineering and to provide continuing education events that are relevant to T&DI members. We hope you will come out and participate in our Institute and work with us to build a strong organization.
