Event description

Description

Play is one of the most effective ways of developing connection with your child. But you may be asking yourself:
How do I find time to play with my child after working all day? Does an infant need play? How do I get my teen off his/her device to even engage with me? What is a “love ritual”?
Play begins with “felt-safety.” During session, we will discuss:
How to bring both structure and nurture into play.
How to create transitions into play and out of play.
How to deal with your own feelings about being playful as a parent.
Practical ways to play with children from hard places at all ages.

This is the first session in a series of 4 TBRI sessions. Although attending all four sessions will be beneficial, it is not required. Upcoming sessions will address attachment, correction/discipline, and how to communicate/advocate for your child in school/daycare.

About the presenter:
Kimberly A. Johnson is a licensed professional counselor that has been working with children and families for over 25 years. She specializes in attachment and adoption work and is a practitioner and trainer for Trust Based Relational Intervention, an intervention for working with children from “hard places.” Currently she practices therapy with Prevea Health in De Pere, WI.
