Did you know that -- besides being a legal requirement, it is often to your advantage to file a tax return. Some of your tax withholdings may be refunded!
STEP #1: SCREENING TOOL - Please use United Way Bay Area's online screening tool to determine if you’re eligible for free tax help through our program.
STEP #2: MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ONLINE - If the tool results in you likely being eligible, go ahead and register here through EventBrite to make an appointment with us!
STEP #3: GATHER YOUR DOCUMENTS AND COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE INTAKE FORM -
Students and community members that are citizens or permanent residents should go to http://earnitkeepitsaveit.org/what-to-bring which details the documents to bring to your appointment AND the form to fill out .
For Foreing Students, we use the self help model. We will provide an URL where you can prepare and efile your tax return on your own. Also we will have screen shots to help you along.
STEP #4. GO TO SUNNYVALE PUBLIC LIBRARY ON YOUR APPOINTMENT DAY! Sunnyvale free tax preparation services are provided by IRS certified volunteers located in the Sunnyvale Public Library (to the left of the computer lab).
Sunnyvale Public Library is one of hundreds of Bay Area VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) sites that provide free tax help to low-to-moderate income families.
