Event description
Volunteer to repair trails in Forest Park with Skyline Tavern Project and Forest Park Conservancy

About this Event

Forest Park, one of the largest urban forests in the US, is much more than an across-the-street neighbor of the Skyline Tavern Project. Portland’s expansive urban forest is intertwined into the spirit and overarching vision of this classic Portland gathering space. Hikers and bicyclists frequently conclude summertime adventures at Skyline with celebratory food and beers, trail runners lace up their shoes on the porch pre-workout, dogs and their human companions mingle in the beer garden, and nature lovers discuss the day’s animal and plant discoveries.

As frequent users, neighbors and supporters of Forest Park, the Skyline Tavern Project has teamed up with the Forest Park Conservancy to host monthly trail maintenance events. Volunteers will meet at 9am at the Skyline Tavern. From there, they will venture to a designated work location and be directed by FPC’s expert trail leads. Work will conclude until noon, when all participants will be invited for a post-work party at the Tavern with free hot (and veggie) dogs, chips, beverages, and camaraderie.

We would like to invite and encourage all of our friends and customers that enjoy recreating in the park to participate. Volunteer stewardship is an essential part of maintaining this incredible & free public resource. Expect 2-3 miles of hiking and varying levels of physical work. Please bring your own water, sunscreen, and bug spray.
