Taunton Pride presents our FIRST EVER Pride Parade. Celebrating 50 years since the first official Pride rally in 1972.

About this event

*All parade registration closes on Monday 20th June*

Important: Due to having a maximum capacity, we will not be able to permit more people to join the parade on the day. For anyone not able to register before this date, we welcome you to come along and watch the parade as a spectator.

For 2022, Taunton Pride are collaborating with GoCreate to produce Taunton Live & Pride, a one day celebration of Arts, Culture, Diversity & Inclusion in Vivary Park on Saturday 16th July.

In particular, a Pride parade leading through town to the Taunton Live and Pride festival in Vivary Park.

We invite our community and its allies to join us with marching through Taunton town, celebrating that we area beautiful, loved, accepted, and a diverse and inclusive community free to love who we want. Walking Proud with who we are.

We also walk, remembering our history with its deep-roots of activism, resilience, courage, unyielding tenacity and highlighting we deserve equal rights!

Let's make noise, dance, bring colour, creativity, and cultivate an inclusive and uniting experience increasing the visibility of our community its success!

The parade theme is Celebrate Educate #IntersectionalALL

We will be mustering in Goodland Gardens at 11.00, heading up North Street, to East Street, back to the Market House, then up the High Street to finish, the whole route is accessible to all including wheelchair users. The parade route will take roughly 30 minutes to walk and open up the festival aspect of the day.

It is crucial that we are creating a safe, inclusive, non-judgmental, welcoming space for all who attend. And for this reason we remind those who attend that we will be operating a zero-tolerance policy on hate, abuse, threatening behaviour and discrimination of any kind.

If you have any concerns on the day, our stewards will be positioned along the parade route and in other event spaces to offer support.

Taunton Pride reserves the right to remove any group, person(s) or float from the form up area of the parade or the parade route itself if in the opinion of the organisers their behaviour is deemed offensive, puts spectators or other participants at risk of physical harm, violates the code of conduct, or is a hindrance to the progress of the parade. Any fees paid will be forfeited.
