About this Event

Taste the Luxury, Guided Holiday Tasting

Wednesday, December 18, 6:30-8pm

$25 ($10 wine club members)

Join Vineyard Brands Sales Manager & Educator, Nikki Erpelding for a guided tasting of six luxury wines. Expect to leave with a wealth of knowledge (and a few new bottles), only to enhance your holiday drinking pleasure.

Champagne Delamotte NV, Learn from Nikki about the Fascinating history behind the 5th oldest Grandes Marques Champagne that only produces 750,000 bottles a year.

Famille Perrin Châteauneuf-du-Pape ‘Les Sinards’ Blanc 2017, This extremely rare wine comes from a 2.5 hectare (6.2 acre) vineyard located within the clos around the historical pope’s palace. All of the viticulture is carried out by the Beaucastel team. 93 points Wine Spectator.

Biodynamic, Tablas Creek Esprit de Tablas-Wine Advocate review! 92-94 points-The star of the whites was the 2014 Esprit Blanc de Tablas. The most complete and rich, it reveals a medium-gold color to go with impressive notes of white currants, licorice, lemon curd and white flower characteristics on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated and with vibrant acidity, it still has another year in foudre before being released, but it should drink beautifully then and keep for a decade or more. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2024 (less than one case available).

Thibault Liger-Belair, Hautes-Côtes de Nuits ‘Le Clos du Prieuré 2015, To fully understand Bourgogne (Burgundy) wine you must taste purity of fruit and terrior, sorry folks but it’s much harder to taste what I am talking about in Pinot Noir from new world producers. Let me help you understand.

Famille Perrin, Vacqueras ‘Les Christins’ 2017, A beautiful example of Grenache-based wines from the Southern Rhône Valley, with an impressive aromatic expression, structured body, and great aging potential. A 8 hectare (19.77 acre) vineyard farmed and handpicked by the Beaucastel team. Located in the Commune of Sarrians, south of the Dentelles de Montmirail. Old vines, average age of 50 years.

And finishing this tasting up with Warre’s 20 year old Tawny Port, Warre’s founded in 1670 , was the first British Port company established in Portugal and therefore the pioneer of a great tradition; its history is synonymous with that of Port itself. Warre’s Ports are distinguished for their structure, elegance and softly perfumed nose. They have a particularly fresh and elegant style. Warre’s premium wines are sourced from Quinta da Cavadinha, Quinta do Retiro and Quinta da Telhada, three of the finest estates of the Douro Valley. Warre’s Vintage Ports are renowned the world over for their excellence and are consistently placed amongst the best in comparative tastings.
