The community at Sixth Street is truly multi-faceted. We have active members of our CSA program, beloved yoga teachers and regular students, and facilitators and students of our Sixth Street Synergy workshops. We have families with youth enrolled in our after school program, Organic Soul Cafe customers and volunteers, and neighbors who have held active roles at the center in the past and will forever be connected to the space.
Whether you are already a part of our community in some way, or simply looking to connect with us and get more involved, we are creating a space to come together as one, EAT, and celebrate our beautiful community!
On Friday, December 2nd, we invite you to come enjoy a winter harvest dinner cooked by our amazing in-house chef Annette Averette as we celebrate the re-opening of the Organic Soul Cafe. All proceeds from the dinner will go to support Sixth Street Community Center's developing youth cultural exchange between Phillipino and NYC youth. The cultural exchange will focus on utilizing organic agriculture in urban settings as a tool for economic development. At the dinner, board member Katwy Heru will be speaking about the project.
After dinner, spend time in this family-friendly environment with like-minded community members, and enjoy music from long-time community member and yoga instructor Paz's band, AY MAYO!-- Afro-Colombian Folkloric Music. Come dance as we head into winter and recognize more than ever the need to come together in these trying times.
**Please register in advance using the Eventbrite so we know how much food to prepare. Please e-mail us at email@example.com, if you would like to attend the dinner but have a financial concern, or with any other questions. Thank you!
