The competitive conversation card game for people who crave deeper connection.

Flirty, funny, and sometimes a little too real, Taste Buds is designed to spark unforgettable stories, spicy confessions, and magnetic moments between friends, strangers, or something in-between. Think We’re Not Really Strangers meets Monopoly Deal and Fluster.

This Victoria-made card game was designed to help young adults build genuine connections, rather than just engaging in small talk. Whether you’re making new friends, deepening relationships, or lighting a spark, Taste Buds gets you there faster.

What to Expect

• 🎲 Play a prototype: You’ll be testing an early version of the game, not the finalized cards(think pretty designs on paper).
• 🤝 Choose your vibe: Sign up with friends as a team, or ask to be paired with strangers and make new friends.
• 👥 Flexible groups: Games run with 2–8 players per table.
• 📝 Shape the game: After your session, complete a short survey.
• 🎁 Win a polished deck: Survey participants will be entered into a draw to win a future printed copy of Taste Buds + a surprise from The Outpost**
• ☕ Café vibes: Hosted at The Outpost Board Game Café, with food and drinks available to keep the conversations flowing. After the play test, you're welcome to stay at the cafe and play more of their huge selection of games.

• Location: The Outpost Board Game Café: 2830 Peatt Rd #109, Victoria, V9B 6Z2
• Date & Time: 6pm - 8pm+ (stay as late as you'd like post-play test)
• Length: 2 hours per playtest block (play multiple games if you’d like!)
• Cost: Ticket price covers The Outpost’s café fee, Eventbrite processing fees, and the rest goes toward the cost of printing the prototype cards**

*Taste Buds features some mature and deep questions; as such, it's not appropriate for players under 18 years of age.

**Tickets will be available for purchase in-person at the Outpost the day of the event for a slightly reduced price, pending availability; however, they won't come with entry into the draw for a finalized deck prize. It's best to secure your place by purchasing online before the event.
