Event description

Description

Honoring our Departed Ancestors through Tarpanam

"Through this ritual we are showing our respect, our gratitude, towards our departed ancestors. Giving verbal thanks only remains as words and does not get translated into action. By partaking in this ritual, we are performing action - spending some time for others, spending money for them and chanting mantras. We therefore get purified, creating positive vibrations." - Amma

The Tarpanam puja is a traditional ritual and is performed to benefit and appease deceased family members, regardless of when they passed away. The MA Center will be conducting a Tarpanam ceremony to pay homage to departed ancestors. Each participant will have an individual puja seating to perform the ceremony for their departed ancestors. This guided participatory ceremony will be led by a devotee.

Read more about this ceremony conducted at Amritapuri, Amma's main ashram in 2015 - Tharpanam/Vavubali 2015.

For a guaranteed seat for the puja, please pre-register for the event to attend. We cannot guarantee a puja seat for walk-ins on the day of the puja as supplies are limited and based on the number of pre-registrations.

Registration closes at midnight on Sunday, August 25th.
