Event description
Talk feminism and tarot with an experienced DC area tarot reader and educator, plus meaningful group discussion and a tarot writing exercise

About this Event

Join seasoned tarot reader and educator, Emily from Woven Psyche, at Femme Fatale DC for an interactive tarot talk exploring feminism, gender roles, and tarot as a method of empowering self care.

In this talk we will explore:

  • A brief history of tarot
  • How tarot can be used for self care, and how self care is a feminist practice
  • The appearance of traditional gender roles in the standard tarot deck
  • The subversion of traditional gender roles in the standard tarot deck
  • The roles and balance of masculine (yang) and feminine (yin) energies in tarot practice, and how these energies transcend gender

Attendees will also enjoy moderated group discussion, robust Q&A with Emily, and a guided tarot free writing exercise to begin your own intuitive journey with tarot. Most importantly, this tarot talk is an opportunity to make new friends!

No prior tarot understanding or experience is necessary, however tarot readers of all levels can benefit from this event.

Attendees should bring a writing utensil and notebook/journal/paper for the free writing exercise.

Direct any questions to wovenpsyche@gmail.com. Refunds are not available for this event.
