Description

This 6-hour workshop will provide master level and clinical social workers new to play methods or wanting to refresh their techniques with a thorough review of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder based on DSM 5 criteria as well as a rich skill set to work with clients offering play therapy methods. Participants will leave having an understanding of ADHD and play methods to utilize in the practice setting and also to share with parents for the home setting.

Participants will:

  • Develop an understanding of the DSM 5 criteria for ADHD.

  • Increase skill set for diagnosing ADHD based on the listed DSM 5 Criteria.

  • Have an introduction to Play Therapy that will include purpose and history.

  • Learn play methods that can assist with providing services to clients of various ages.

  • Receive various play therapy skills they can begin using with clients immediately.

Cost: $175 fee includes all training materials, CEUs, and a play starter kit

Credit: 6.0 Hours approved by South Carolina Social Work Board Association for Play Therapy (APT Approved Provider #17-492)

Carmen Jimenez is a License Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate, Substance Abuse Professional, License Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina & Georgia and a License Independent Social Worker in South Carolina. Carmen is a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. Carmen earned a bachelor in social work with a certificate in Child Protective Services from Benedict College in 2004. Carmen was accepted into the advance standing program at the University of South Carolina earning a masters of social work in 2005 with a focus on communities and organizations.
