Tara Hueze, Rotary Scholar
Wed, June 7, 2017, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM EDT
Join us on June 7 to meet Tara Hueze. Tara is one of the Rotary International scholars we're hosting this year.
Tara is a French national, who studied at SciencesPo Paris, Cambridge University, and now Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). More precisely, she is enrolled in a dual-degree between SciencesPo and Columbia (a year in each institution, two degrees) where she concentrates in energy and environment. Tara intends to work in green finance and/or green tech.
While Tara wishes to have a long-term global impact with her future career, she finds it equally important to have a short-term local impact in her everyday life. In 2015, Tara launched Règles Élémentaires, the first French charity to collect sanitary products for homeless women. One of the fastest-growing charities in France, over 70,000 tampons and pads have been collected so far. Finally, Tara makes regular contributions to various media: La Tribune, L'Obs, the Huff Po, where she blogs about ambition, art and women empowerment. Tara is also an accomplished sculptor having had her works exhibited in Paris, Moscow, Cambridge and Hong Kong.
