Join us for our Fall TAPS event entitled “Future Planning for Family Planning.”

Event Summary

What new trends and directions are affecting family planning programs in low- and middle-income countries? How can international NGO leaders and family planning implementers approach new challenges, partnerships, and opportunities? Join us for a short presentation and discussion with Pape Gaye, CEO of IntraHealth International and long-time family planning advocate, as he reflects on the changing landscape of family planning and how leaders in the movement are reimagining – and planning for – the future of family planning.

Mingle 5:30-6:15 / Dinner 6:15-7:00 / Presentation 7:00-8:15

$30/general admission/professionals & $15/student

If you prefer to pay by cash or check at the door, please select the "Pay at the Door" option from the ticket selection to reserve your space at the event. The same $30/general admission and $15/student admission fees will still apply to ticket purchases made at the door. There is a small fee for paying through Eventbright. Please note that the only forms of payment accepted at the door are cash and check.

For 29 years, the Triangle Area Population Society (TAPS) has served as a forum to bring together professionals and students interested in population, reproductive health, development and demographic change globally and in the United States.

What is the refund policy?

Tickets may be cancelled and refunded until 11:59 pm EST on Monday, October 14, 2019. If you have missed the refund window and are unable to attend, please feel free to transfer your ticket to someone else but please let us know who it is so we do not double count. Those that do not refund/transfer their tickets will still be held responsible for payment, including the Pay at the Door option. TAPS relies on accurate headcounts in order to recoup our costs for organizing the event.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes, please bring your printed ticket to the event. You can also present your registration confirmation on your phone or tablet at the door.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to someone else. However, please let us know if at all possible so we do not double count on planned attendance.

Speaker Biography

Pape Gaye is a native of Senegal and a lifelong advocate for health workers, strong health systems, and access to health care for all. Under his leadership as president and CEO of IntraHealth International, the organization has made human resources for health a crucial part of the worldwide conversation on global health. Gaye draws on three decades of leadership in international health and development as he oversees work in more than 40 countries to strengthen their health workforces and health systems. Gaye began his career with the US Peace Corps, and went on to work with the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Committee and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Before his appointment as CEO at IntraHealth, he led the organization’s regional office for West, Central, and North Africa.

Gaye holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of California at Los Angeles. His board and advisory services include the Center for African Family Studies, Duke University’s Global Health Institute, Global Health Council, PAI, the Reproductive Health NGO CEO Working Group, Speak Up Africa, the Access Challenge, and the Triangle Global Health Consortium.
