About this event
The TAPS LA Music Festival is a 2 week program for the most advanced percussion students in the country. Founded by Ted Atkatz, the festival features a world class faculty of professional percussionists and college aged students from the leading music schools and conservatories.
The TAPS Fellows will first perform traditional African Drumming selections alongside students from the Switzer Academy in Torrence, CA.
Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians (1978) will follow- one of the most significant works for percussion and chamber ensemble of the 21st Century.
TAPS is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to providing the highest standard of music education at no cost to students.
