Completion of the PCC Honors program will earn you special priority consideration for transfer to UCLA. If you have applied for transfer to UCLA in a major in the College of Letters and Science for Fall 2017, you need to go through the process of certification to receive this benefit. Completing your TAP certification is your responsibility.
Completing the Honors program and getting TAP certified requires that you have finished 15 units of Honors coursework by the end of the Spring 2017 semester (you can be finishing the Honors program in Spring 2017 and still go through certification). Remember, you must complete all Honors classes with a grade of B or better. You also must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above in UC transferable courses from all colleges or universities attended to be certified for UCLA. If you think you will meet these requirements, you should go through the certification process. It may make a critical difference in whether you are accepted to UCLA! Please remember that if your major is not in the College of Letters and Science, you do not get TAP certified. Students in majors like Computer Science, Engineering, Nursing, or Theatre, Film and Television do not go through this process unless you are planning to apply to an alternate major that is in the College of Letters and Science.
Before coming to the orientation, you should fill out the TAP certification form. You can download the form here
