Event description

Description

Tantric spirituality is a profound experimental and holistic practice that reaches all the levels of our being. Yogic practices including asana, pranayama and meditation are essential to connecting with consciousness and energy in Tantra. This workshop is a beautiful opportunity to explore these techniques with visiting Tao Tantric Arts teacher Ananya Jessica, Ph.D. and Dr. Ali Fogarty.

In this unique workshop, you will learn classical Hatha Yoga focused on perceiving and channeling energy, crucial for Tantric sexual practice. We will teach you asana in a form rarely found in the West and compliment the experience with perhaps surprising meditation techniques, from new and old traditions. Complete the practice by incorporating breathing techniques - pranayama – for a powerful experience of working with the energetic potential within us all. It is through these practices that we can understand body, mind and emotions in a new, integrated way, and fall in love with Tantric Yoga.

Check out our complimentary workshop Tantric Spiritual Sexuality on December 11th and December 18th!

About the instructors:

Ananya Jessica, PhD, lives and breathes a unique lineage of Tantric Yoga that combines deep Hatha Yoga practice with psychological inquiry and a revolutionary sexual sadhana. She has studied at schools in the US and Asia, including Source School, Agama Yoga and Tao Tantric Arts. She currently lives in a Tantric Yoga community in Koh Phangan, Thailand, and teaches around the world. True to her academic roots, she actively seeks out opportunities to study with scholars and practitioners of all backgrounds in the wild world of Shaiva Tantra.

Dr. Ali Fogarty is a sexuality and intimacy educator committed to community-building to promote empathy and acceptance across a spectrum of gender expressions and human experiences. For the last six years, Ali has created courses and workshops designed to encourage all genders to feel empowered to explore their sexuality and communicate their desires. She has a PhD from Stanford University and is currently publishing a book on trans and genderqueer discrimination in the workplace.
