- Speaker's Bio:
MR. TAIWO AYEDUN is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of CR Services (Credit Bureau) Plc. He is regarded as the pioneer and father of private credit bureaus in Nigeria. Taiwo’s goal for founding the company was to promote an environment where working-class Nigerians could obtain easier and faster access to credit to expand their businesses and improve their standards of living. Taiwo has a background in software and information technology spanning over two decades. Majority of those years were spent in business process re-engineering and large-scale software design, development and implementation at large organizations in the United States.
In December 2001, Taiwo founded CreditRegistry Corporation in the United States and led a team that invented the world’s first credit bureau system with integrated biometrics for consumer identification. The system was piloted among Nigerian banks from March 2002 to November 2003. CR Services Limited was incorporated in January 2003 as Nigeria’s first private credit bureau company and began operations in December 2003. Taiwo successfully led the company to admit additional investors in 2007.
Prior to founding CreditRegistry Corporation and CR Services Plc, Taiwo was a Senior Consultant in the Consulting Services group at Microsoft Corporation where he worked on the broad adoption of Microsoft’s programming and enterprise server technologies. Prior to working with Microsoft, Taiwo co-founded Line of Business Systems in Illinois, and led several technology implementations in the health care and financial services industries across organizations in the United States. Taiwo believes that consumer and mortgage credit contribute to high GDP growth rates and improved standard of living. His passion is to help Nigerian lenders and borrowers establish trust quickly in order to engage in mutually advantageous business, stimulate credit expansion and create wealth.
Taiwo has a BS degree in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, USA
