Learn the secrets to great Mexican dishes with visiting chef Ruth Alegria and Chef Owner Gloria Dominguez of Tamarindo. This hands on cooking class will show you techniques of cooking from the heart of Mexico.
Ruth Alegria is visiting from Mexico City to start our Cooking class series this Spring and Summer at Tamarindo. Ruth Alegria is the founder of the Princeton Cooking School and former owner of the New York Times recognized Mexican Village Restaurants, she organizes custom designed cultural and culinary tours of Mexico City. From the best known of the city's colonias to its most overlooked we offer you a "non-tour" tour of museums, restaurants, theatres, galleries, and street food that make up the culinary scene.
Agua fresca de limon con chia- a refreshing flavored water with that all "new" super food chia
Salsas - Salsa verde with serrano and chile de arbol / tomato and chile de arbol.
Ensalada - Salad of grilled cactus with orange and red onion, cilantro vinegrette.
Soup - Cream of Green Poblano with green apple and pomegranate seeds.
Main dishes - Pescado en hoja de platano - banana leaf wrapped fish filet with a chaya tomatillo sauce.
Pollo Pibil - aclassic of the Yucatecan kitchen - achiote seasoned chicken in bana leafs and slow roasted. Red onion souse garnish
Dessert - Capirotada - Mexican bread pudding
