Description

Tallahassee lunch counter sit-ins at 60: But are we sitting together now?

On this date 60 years ago, the Tallahassee Democrat read “The lunch counter in Woolworth’s was closed at noon yesterday when a group of Negroes sat down and asked to be served.” In observance of the Tallahassee Lunch Counter Sit-in’s, we’ll talk about how our community has changed and whether we’re sitting together enough at lunch now.

Local Color is sponsored by:

As if that weren't good enough, appetizers on us, drinks (and additional food) available for your purchase.

We are incredibly grateful to be able to present this with on-going support from: The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation through the Community Foundation of North Florida and the National Endowment for the Humanities through the Florida Humanities Council.
