On 11 November 2025, the historic Wills Memorial Building will host Talks4Change: Pioneers of Progress, marking 60 years since the Race Relations Act. Proudly curated by Curiosity Un(Ltd), get ready for our phenomenal high-profile speakers who’re on the frontline of racial justice. This includes:
- Keynote fireside chat with trailblazing political figures Lord Paul Boateng (UK’s first Black Cabinet Minister) and Lord Marvin Rees (Europe’s first elected Black mayor).
- A Pioneers panel featuring Guy Bailey the spark behind the Bristol Bus Boycott
- A Progress panel featuring Sado Jidre (Black South West Network), Darren Miller (Black Business Initiative), Meryn Weir (Author & Activist), Mya-Rose Craig (Black2Nature), and Marie-Annick Gournet (Pro Vice-Chancellor of Reparatory & Civic Futures)
- A We:Memberance Procession led by the legendary Bus Boycott pioneers
Also, on the first anniversary of his passing, we will honour the legacy of Paul Stephenson and, in his honour, launch an ambitious campaign for Bristol to become the UK Capital of Civil Rights—with the support of Martin Luther King III.
