About this Event
Jerry Ferreao is a bombero born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. At an early age he was introduced to music by way of afrocuban rhytms and latin Jazz as well as Bomba y Plena. He is the disciple of Don Rafael Cepeda, Hermanos Ayala among other Bomba elders. He has traveled and lectured across the globe and is the founder and director of his own Bomba music ensemble: Los Rebuleadores de San Juan!
Join us Wednesday February 10th at 6pm Eastern time, where he will talk with our director Milteri Tucker Concepcion, about his humble begginings in Bomba, his time learning from the masters of the Island who are no longer amongst us, Bomba history- origins, meaning of traditional songs, spirituality and his cultural work.
This interview will be in Spanish and translated at moment by Tucker Concepcion.
