Description

Spring 2019 Talking Points | Justice + Unity: Toward the Healing of a Fractured Church - Part 3: Women in the Kingdom

On April 16, 2019, Grand Rapids Theological Seminary will conclude our three-part, year-long series on “Justice + Unity: Toward the Healing of a Fractured Church.” Our goal with this series has been to explore the biblical teaching on justice and unity and to lift up the experiences and perspectives of those who are marginalized or less represented—even in the church. We are creating space to reflect on issues that divide Christians in order to cultivate conversation and shared understanding.

Our first event centered Black/African American perspectives, our second event centered Hispanic/Latino(a) perspectives, and this third event will focus on women in the kingdom. We will explore the question, Is our vision for women robust enough to enlist and empower all women to bring all their gifts to the body of Christ? If not, at what cost to the body of Christ and to the gospel?
